Tipp's loss is Reading's gain
One of Tipperary's former star minor hurlers looks set to be playing Premiership soccer next year with his adopted Reading.
Former Premier County underage ace Shane Long has even been showing off his hurling skills to his team-mates at the championship club.
Fellow Irishman and team-mate at the Madejski Stadium Stephen Hunt revealed that the pair pucked around a sliothar at the Stadium recently; "His (Long) country ways are still with him.
"He loves his hurling more than his soccer. "We took the hurls out in training last month and had a few pucks about.
"The English lads tried it as well but they were shocking! "And they thought a cricket ball was hard!"
